Exumas Catamaran Charter Itinerary on the
Charter Catamaran Solstice

Day 1 - Nassau to Allan's Cay: Fly in to Nassau International Airport and begin your Exumas Catamaran Charter on SOLSTICE at her private dock, 10 minutes from the airport. After a brief orientation with your professional yacht charter crew, Cliff and Liza, you'll cast off for a 30 nautical mile sail to the Exumas. Cross the Yellow Banks, dodging coral heads that look like giant dinosaur eggs in the clear blue water. Relax on the spacious trampolines or join Cliff and Liza with the sailing. Arrive at Allan’s Cay just in time for sunset, and take a refreshing swim as dinner is prepared for you to enjoy under the stars.

Day 2 - Highborne Cay: Each morning of your catamaran charter, follow your whim to join in early morning yoga/fitness with Liza, take a swim or kayak, or just relax over breakfast. Explore the Allan’s Cay area and feed the Bahamian Iguanas that will scurry out to greet you on the beaches. Sail to nearby Highborne Cay to enjoy “Horseshoe Bay” with its beautiful deserted beach and fabulous reef, the “Octopus’ Garden”. Dinghy around to the charming marina, and watch nurse sharks congregate or relax in the hammocks on the beach. The nearby Exuma Sound offers amazing dive sites and fishing for those wanting more adventure. Enjoy the peace and solitude of this anchorage for the evening.

Day 3 - Norman’s Cay: After a morning swim and a little beachcombing, sail on to nearby “Hammerhead Gulch” for a spectacular snorkel or scuba dive. After an enjoyable lunch, continue south for our next island destination, Norman’s Cay. Quite possibly our favorite spot in the Exumas, there are incredible bays, beaches, flats and lagoons to explore. Without any other boats around, this deserted paradise could entertain you for days! Do everything or nothing at all.

Day 4 - Norman’s Cay: Sail on the Exuma Sound, fishing along the way, to the Southern end of Norman’s Cay. Here you can explore the island’s ruins of an infamous drug runner and snorkel on his partially submerged airplane in the harbor. Colorful fish and coral have made a home in this unique snorkel site. “Twinkie Beach” is another highlight of this anchorage, with its lone palm tree, charming beach, and loads of seashells to collect. Learn to spear fish on the nearby coral heads or hire a local guide to bonefish in the flats. Just before sunset, we will move around to the front side of the Cay, and anchor off of the Norman’s Cay Beach Club. Take a visit ashore to this fun out-island bar and restaurant.

Day 5 - Shroud Cay: Awaken to a gorgeous sunrise and continue our journey South to Shroud Cay, within the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park. A highlight of your charter will be the adventure through the mangrove rivers to the other side of the island. Snorkel, kayak, or dinghy through this naturalist’s paradise. Explore the breathtaking beaches and climb to the top of “Camp Driftwood” for spectacular views. Experience the currents that create a natural water park or play in the gentle surf. This place is heaven on earth- an out-island experience not to be missed! Sail on to Hawksbill, and enjoy its sugar-sand beaches at sunset, sleeping soundly in this calm anchorage.

Day 6 - Warderick Wells: Warderick Wells, an old pirate’s hideaway, is our destination of the day. Home to the Headquarters of the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, this island has miles of trails to explore as well as beaches, reefs, and tropical birds that eat sugar right out of your hand! This unique anchorage circles around a sandbar, and has strong currents that kids of all ages love to float in. Mingle with other yacht charter guests on the Park Ranger’s porch with a view that is not to be missed! Have a beach barbeque or dine onboard SOLSTICE as you listen to the nearby island blow-hole.

Day 7 - Compass Cay and Staniel Cay: Sail South to Rocky Dundas and discover several incredible caves perfect for snorkeling. The north end of Compass Cay is just minutes away, and is the home of “Rachel’s Bubble Bath” a natural whirlpool. Depending on the tide, this unique pool is either a flat, peaceful lagoon, or bubbling bath. Continue through the stunning shallow waters of Pipe Creek to arrive at Big Major’s Spot. If we’re lucky, the famous swimming pigs will greet us in the water and on the beach. Next, we will sail into nearby Staniel Cay, and anchor outside the “Thunderball Grotto”. Featured in the James Bond film, this cave system’s colorful corals, tropical fish, and crystal clear water will make you feel as if you are in an aquarium! Explore the surrounding coves of Staniel Cay, or the charming small town, stopping to visit the festive Staniel Cay Yacht Club in the evening.

Day 8 - Staniel Cay: Enjoy one last swim in the Exumas and one last SOLSTICE breakfast before you leisurely make your way to the small island airstrip in Staniel Cay or Black Point. On your scenic flight home, you’ll think back fondly on your incredible charter, and start planning your next Exumas adventure onboard SOLSTICE!
