Yacht Incentive Groups in St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Sailing Vacations in the Tobago Cays
A necklace of enchanting islands that strings from Martinique in the north to Grenada in the south and includes St. Lucia, St. Vincent, and the Grenadines. The most popular cruising area is the Grenadines where life unfolds at a snail's pace and one long, lazy funfilled day blends into another. The larger islands are stunning with lush, green hillsides jutting 3,000 feet into the sky. Some of the smaller islands are no more than spits of sand held captive by a coral reef. This destination is for those who want to get away from it all and do not need lots of shoreside entertainment or shopping. Ports of call include:

Ocean Getaways Sun St. Vincent: Untouched by tourism, St. Vincent has maintained the vibrant Caribbean flavor of an agricultural island with dramatic natural beauty including a magnificent rain forest and a 4,000 foot active volcano. Young Island lagoon on the south side of the island is an idyllic embarkation point.

Ocean Getaways Sun Bequia: Long a gathering spot for cruising sailors, Bequia has a fine seafaring tradition and is home for the best boatbuilders in the Caribbean. The main harbor is usually teeming with yachts of all kinds as well as boat boys in rowing dinghies trying to sell you a song or wash your hull. The welcoming people will tease your heartstrings, and you'll probably decide to linger here longer than expected. Lots of local nightlife and interesting shops.

Ocean Getaways Sun The Tobago Cays: The most magnificent water colors in the Caribbean are to be found in this deserted cluster of low- lying islands that are sheltered from the sea by a horseshoe reef. The ocean shimmers a kaleidoscope of colors. The water is so clear you can still see a shell on the bottom in thirty feet of water. Spectacular snorkeling and beaching!

Ocean Getaways Sun Mustique: Best known for the numerous celebrities that have homes here - Mick Jagger , David Bowie, and Raquel Welch to name a few. A privately owned upscale island and the famous Basil's Beach Bar. Nice beaches.

Ocean Getaways Sun Mayreau: A gorgeous half moon bay provides wonderful shelter for watersports. Great hiking and a quaint local village.

Ocean Getaways Sun Grenada: The "Isle of Spice". You can smell the scent of spices in the air as you sail along the coast. St. Georges is a bustling, picturesque harbor rimmed by an ancient fort and a municipal building dating back to the 1700s. An island tour of the rain forest, cane fields, and spice farms is a must as well as a saunter through the city with its fragrant outdoor market with handmade baskets and trinkets.

Facts about The Grenadines

The Sailing
The islands of the Grenadines are less protected than the BVI so the seas can be more robust in the winter months. Our preferred months for a program on sailing yachts or catamarans would be Spring, Summer, and Fall.

Getting There
Flights to this location can be a bit more challenging than other Caribbean destinations. St. Vincent is the best port of departure and can be reached through connections through Puerto Rico.

What is the best itinerary?
We like one-way itineraries from St. Vincent to Union Island. You are sailing with the wind (which makes it smoother), and you can visit all of the "hot spots" en route.

Group Size and Fleets
We have a smaller inventory of yacts in this destination so small groups are best; 20-80 guests.
